When can I return home after an evacuation?
We understand many people are anxious to return home. Please do not return to an evacuated area until local officials have determined it is safe to do so. Even after flames have passed, hazards such as damaged power lines, unstable trees, debris, and emergency crews working in the area can remain.
Before traveling, check your address on SREC's Evacuation Map to confirm your current evacuation level. If your area is still under an evacuation order, please stay out until restrictions are lifted by Incident Command.

Responses will be accepted by Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) beginning 8:00 am on Monday, August 3, 2026 until 4:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2026. Responses will be reviewed on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 9:00 am at SREC, 12710 E. Mirabeau Pkwy, Spokane Valley, WA 99216 and publicly read aloud for furnishing the following:
Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) is seeking information from consulting firms and
other organizations with experience in public safety communications, regional governance, and cost
allocation methodologies. SREC is exploring potential approaches for evaluating and developing a
sustainable, equitable, and transparent user fee methodology for its member agencies.
